The weather played along, with a bit of rain yet more sun all in all, and months of work appearing now to brighten the town.
Best come along to the Launch today at noon with Mose Hutchinson, a video or two, Claire’s (from Peni Deli) crafty cake, and a few more crafts needing fixing on railings and posts, and in some shops. And there is of course the felting work shop to either watch of join (if you are lucky enough to get a place) watch this video..
Making more pompom chains or other beauties for tree trunks and railings – you can do that all over next week, and if free join 3 craft bombing workshops – on Tuesday 4pm in the Arts Centre, on Friday in Glencorse Centre at 12.30, and on Saturday in the YWCA. But you can also do your own wee gathering, and be part of Brightening Penicuik!
It would just be so brilliant if every person young and old would join in – just imagine!
we should all take a leaf out of the 2nd Penicuik Brownies:
When Brown Owl gave out the prepared bunting they were all very excited , then when one piece of bunting was decorated the Brownies asked for another then another until yards of bunting was complete. This was a great challenge for the Brownies as this is their 100th Birthday this year.
Sunday is the writing workshop, which in essence is also about the Brightening of Penicuik!
And remember to check the Vol Arts Week website to see what everybody else is up to:
