Craft bombing projects can fit in perfectly into any part of the Curriculum of Excellence.

It just needs an enthusiastic teacher with students linking what they are doing right now anyway, combining a craft with a subject they are studying. And Brighten a public place, their school, our streets!

What can we here in Penicuik come up with ?

For instance, in Rothesay on Bute a Primary School was instrumental in boosting tourism and bringing TLC to the town, rejoicing in recycling and regenerating.

Another High school in Liverpool was “Making an Impact”

in their local community through their yarn bombing and arts in the community gifts, being gifted the materials by businesses such as Rowan Yarns

the giraffe was there to stay and involved the local community in the “Name the Giraffe” competition!

Or how about taking a  leaf out of the famous Crochet Coral Reef ?

The CCR is a project that resides at the intersection of mathematics, marine biology, handicraft and community art practice, and also responds to the environmental crisis of global warming and the escalating problem of oceanic plastic trash.

And scattercraft in Glasgow is a school linked project combining fundraising with history and global community awareness and connection building.
